Dear Pool Owners

As we settle into summer and with Gauteng currently facing a critical water crisis, it's time to rethink how we will manage and maintain our pools this season. It is critical to find solutions that not only help conserve water and other resources, but also prioritise safety. Pool covers are becoming more than just an option—they're a necessity.

This summer I challenge you to live as if Day Zero is a reality, like the taps are officially dry and you have no available water other than your pool. Cover up, stop evaporation and make hosepipe top ups a thing of the past. Fit our gutter sleeves for rainwater harvesting and maintain your pool water levels with the free water. Use pool water in the home wherever possible. Try it for a week and experience first hand the value of pool covers. See just how much water (and money) you can save in one week! We recommend the GeoBubble range - EnergyGuard, Thermal GeoBubble or Sol+GuardRemember, if child and pet safety is of concern, always choose the PowerPlastics Solid Safety Cover. It also saves water, electricity and chemicals, and is an effective "Day Zero" cover.

This month, also a reminder about cover repairs. Read on for more on why this is so important to take care of every season.

Some good news! Thanks to a recent reduction in petrol prices and other supplies, we are able to offer a special discount on certain quotes. Watch out for more news on this but in the meantime, drop us a line and see if your recent quote qualifies for a reduction.

Lastly a little motivation to order your cover this coming month, especially that solid safety cover to secure your pool prior to the seasonal peak in child drownings. We are offering a start-of-season October special. Speak to one of our sales consultants for more on this and take advantage of this excellent promotion.

Do you live in an estate or gated community?

With the shift to more secure residential living and community lifestyles, we have seen a huge spike in smaller pool covers, especially safety covers given that on some estates there are no boundary walls, allowing public access and a serious drowning risk.

The PowerPlastics Solid Safety Cover ticks all the boxes for pools in gated communities. We have covered high rise balcony and penthouse pools too. This cover also doubles up as an energy- and water-saving cover.

Does your gated community have its own pool safety policy?

Following on from the trend, many communities are now campaigning for the adoption of safety by-laws within their estate as a way to clamp down on pool safety. We applaud and encourage this! The drowning statistics in South Africa remain high and the problem needs to be approached from multiple levels. With an estimated 7000 gated communities in South Africa, adopting strict pool safety standards can go a long way towards lowering the statistics. Chat to your body corporate about adopting safety standards and avoid drowning tragedies on your property.

Exciting news - price adjustment on certain quotes

Cover repairs

Pool covers need some TLC from time to time. As summer begins and your pool is back in action, now is the time to check your cover for any damaged or worn parts. We offer a full repair service for all our covers.

This is especially important for solid safety covers. Worn or damaged parts will impact the cover's safety features and pose a drowning risk.

Don't put repairs off! Drop us a line to schedule your repairs today.
